i've been attending CrossFit 3 times a week on and off for about 3 years, and in my experience CrossFit Reading is the best mix of CrossFit, strength, endurance, and friendship in the area. There are no machines, fancy equipment or any arrogant staff or members - which is exactly what you want out of your coaching! There are Tyres, Sleds, Ropes and Beer Barrels. Not your usual gym! The workouts can be scaled but are very easy to follow with no hard-to-understand programming.
Between you and top notch coaching, mentoring, nutritional evaluation, motivation, you will get BIG results (assuming you are willing to dedicate your time and energy). The "Gym" was always boring and there was no social side to training but with Crossfit you are always training with friends and are always supported - both mentally and physically! Crossfit gave me "The Shape" I always wanted which I never achieved from a normal gym. Give it a try
